EN The assessment of the value of heritage is an important problem in the spatial development of rural areas. Determining the value of heritage is especially important to plan the form of its protection, conservation and contemporary use. However, this issue has not yet been developed to the extent of its importance. Therefore, the article presents a proposal for the method of analysis and assessment of the value of cultural heritage, and examples of its implementation in rural planning in Poland. A multi-criteria comparative assessment method was proposed, taking into account the typological diversity of the heritage. The method consists of three main tasks: elaboration and synthesis of heritage values and valuations.
