Abstract

EN The article focuses on field models used in the calculations and design of electrical machines. Numerical methods using the latest approach to the finite element method (FEM) with nodal and edge elements are discussed. Electric machines are considered in which, in addition to the magnetic field, there is a field of conduction currents, e.g. an eddy current field. Methods for describing the field sources are presented. Techniques for calculating forces and torques and representing motion on finite element models are discussed. Examples of applications of the discussed methods are presented.
