Abstract
EN This paper presents the effect of the imidazolium ionic liquids with 2,5-dihydroxybenzenesulfonate anion on corrosion parameters of 316L stainless steel and improvement of lifetime and capacity of symmetric electrochemical capacitor based on carbon electrodes. The use of an additive in the form of an ionic liquid leads to an increase in the lifetime of the capacitor. The additive inhibits the electrochemical corrosion of the positive current collector (316L stainless steel), which is exposed to oxidation during capacitor operation. Therefore, the additive inhibits the degradation of the whole electrochemical capacitor system.
