Abstract

EN The digitalization of business processes is a key direction of the development of the organization, enabling the improvement of operational efficiency and quality of management. In the presented case study, a cooperative brewery, acting as a sheltered workshop, was analysed, which was struggling with the lack of systematic monitoring of inventory levels and reservations of finished products. The previous, manual registration of production and sales resulted in numerous errors, delays in order fulfilment and the need for frequent corrections of invoices. In response to these challenges, the Business Process Rapid Prototyping Method (BPRPM) was used, aimed at optimizing key operational processes. Solutions based on selected functionalities typical of CRM, WMS and MES systems were used, which enabled the automation of customer relationship management, storage and production monitoring. At the same time, due to the specificity of the brewery, it was necessary to develop alternative methods of product identification (QR codes) in situations where standard EAN-13 markings were insufficient. The implemented actions allowed for the improvement of reservation accuracy, better inventory management and a reduction in the number of errors in sales documentation. The case study shows that even small craft enterprises can effectively implement digital transformations if they use a flexible, iterative approach that takes into account the specifics of local processes. The results provide valuable conclusions in the area of both process management theory and the practice of implementing digitalization tools in the manufacturing sector.
