EN After obtaining a master's degree, those who are most interested in further academic development go on to doctoral studies. A similar path is launched for working people who wish to earn another degree based on their professional work. In Poland, such an opportunity is the Implementation Doctorate launched in 2017 by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The aim of the Implementation Doctorate programme is to develop innovation in companies and to push them towards more advanced industrial research and development. Currently, about 2,500 people representing various fields of science have participated or continue to participate in this program. The article presents model activities aimed at the application for an implementation doctorate. Using the example of a company and a topic in the field of mechanical engineering, it was shown how the idea for a pro-project application is developed. The elements of the application and how to fill in its different areas were presented. Also discussed was how the application is evaluated by a reviewer. The Implementation Doctorate Program in Poland is making a significant contribution to providing Polish companies and public institutions with highly qualified employees with doctoral degrees who create new technologies and find practical applications for them. Already after the first defenses and analysis of completed trials, it can be concluded that not only have innovative solutions been created, but they have yet found their practical reflection in implementations.
