PL Artykuł przedstawia metodę przyspieszenia kodera i dekodera JPEG poprzez zrównoleglenie przetwarzania oraz opcjonalne zastosowanie znaczników restartu. Przeanalizowano potencjalne problemy i możliwe podejścia, zaprezentowano szczegóły implementacji z wykorzystaniem podziału na niezależnie kodowane fragmenty oraz ocenę wydajności, która wykazała znaczące skrócenie czasu kodowania i dekodowania. Przyspieszenie nie miało wpływu na sprawność kom-presji. Proponowane podejście pozwala na przyspieszenie kodowania z użyciem współczesnych wielordzeniowych procesorów.
EN The paper presents a method for accelerating the JPEG encoder and decoder through parallel processing and the optional use of restart markers. Potential issues and possible approaches were analyzed, implementation details utilizing division into independently encoded segments were presented, and performance evaluation demonstrated significant reductions in encoding and decoding times. The acceleration did not affect compression efficiency. The proposed approach enables faster encoding using modern multicore processors.
