Abstract

EN In this paper, we introduce easy-to-use software for calculating the theoretical limits of depth estimation accuracy for multicamera setups. Such setups are used for immersive video applications for capturing the video of the scene. The calculation is based on the ray tracing technique as well as on the analysis of the geometry of the system. The software is easily configurable for different camera setups. The software is useful during the design phase of multi camera arrangements since it allows to estimate the lower bound of disparity based depth estimation error for a given camera arrangement.
