Abstract

EN A review and synthesis of 17 published articles, selected from those submitted to the special issue (TOPIC) of "Interior Design Towards The Sustainable Environment", is presented. The subject matter of the accepted articles is multifaceted, which has resulted in the application of diverse research techniques. Despite their originality, the contents of these articles intersect to some extent, yet they may be classified into four thematic groups: (A) Pro-life technical aspects; (B) Human beings and spatial satisfaction; (C) Pro-health actions; (D) A sustainable society. Furthermore, the analysis includes the subject, the research problem, the research technique, and the instrumentality. The synthesis indicates the following: multidimensionality of design issues in interior architecture; the understanding of the principles of organic design in the sphere of sustainability has been increasing.
