EN This article aims at a thorough analysis of the methods of topology generation for ad-hoc networks taking into account topology control mechanisms. A literature survey enabled the creation a topology generator based on the most popular and effective topology control protocols. Generating realistic topologies makes it possible to create and study routing protocols and traffic characteristics in ad-hoc networks and is a crucial part in the process of ad-hoc network design.
