EN The paper presents a comparative analysis of the measurement results of the roughness for two types of road surfaces. The tests were performed using the British pendulum on the airport auxiliary roads of the Aero Club Piła. The tests were done for concrete and bituminous pavement. The measurements were conducted at four measuring points of the cross section of the road and the roughness was measured six times at each point. The measurements were repeated at every 30m for the longitudinal section of the road with the length of 120m. This situation allowed us to elaborate our own roughness maps of the investigated road surfaces in a form of 3D charts. The authors have assessed the state of the road surface contamination before and after the measurements. During the tests the authors have also conducted the environmental investigations in order to determine the parameters of the road surface and the environment. The roughness investigations are particularly important during safety determination of the road traffic. The parameters of the road surface have a direct impact on the behaviour of the vehicle, its acceleration, braking, steerability and motion stability. These parameters are defined by the interaction between the tyre and the ground.
