EN This work re-visits a recently introduced transmission technique called Packet-Appended Iteratively-Decoded Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation (PA-BICM-ID), which consists in appending some extra signals to a legacy packet containing Gray-labeled signals. Thanks to the appendix, compatible receivers can benefit from iterative demodulation-decoding process, meanwhile the legacy packet is still acquirable for older devices. In the current contribution a simple trick, i.e., coordinate interleaving is proposed to exploit signal space diversity (SSD), thereby improving PA-BICM-ID receiver's routine. The impact of constellation rotation on decoding convergence is analyzed, after which the system performance is examined by means of EXtrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) method and Monte Carlo simulation experiment. The simulation results are proved by respective error bounds delivered herein.
