EN Due to the development of new services multicast transmission is getting more and more important not only in scientific community but also in industrial deployments. As a result, not only multicast algorithms but also protocols are a hot research topic. The paper presents simulation study of two well known multicast protocols: PIM DM and PIM SM comparing them and discussing their advantages and disadvantages.
