PL W pracy poruszono temat współczesnej tożsamości miejskiej przestrzeni publicznej, która ma silne ugruntowania historyczne. Głównym celem powstania tego artykułu jest wykazanie usprawnień w procesie planowania przestrzennego na przykładzie doświadczeń niemieckich urbanistów. W tym celu przeanalizowano proces planowania i projektowania przestrzeni Alexanderplatz w Berlinie, uwzględniając wpływ partycypacji społecznej na transformacje tej metropolitalnej przestrzeni publicznej. Przykład ten ilustruje wpływ globalizacji na zmiany w strukturze sieci przestrzeni miejskiej. Stawia on zarazem problem tożsamości miejskiej jako główny aspekt integracji nie tylko lokalnych, ale również globalnych społeczności informacyjnych.
EN The article handles the subject of contemporary urban public space identity, which is strongly rooted in history. The main aim of this article is to show improvements in the urban planning process according to the experience of German urban planners. For this purpose the urban planning and designing processes of the Alexanderplatz space in Berlin were analyzed, taking into consideration the influence of society's participation on the transformation of this metropolitan public space. This example illustrates the influence of globalization on the changes in urban space structures. It also considers the issue of identity as the main aspect of integration of not only local, but also global IT societies.
