PL Łódź jest przykładem miasta, które powstało dzięki rozwojowi przemysłu XIX- -wiecznego. Krajobraz miejski jest zdominowany przez urodę starych ceglanych fabryk. Obecnie są przekształcane na różnorodne funkcje, np.: biurową, kulturową, mieszkaniową. Łódź ma wszystkie cechy miasta, którego tkanka miejska powstała w krótkim okresie czasu, w sposób dość jednorodny. Ten jednorodny charakter zabudowy dzisiaj stanowi o jakości przestrzeni miejskiej. Transformacja lat 90. XX wieku sprawiła, że miasto uległo recesji. Generowanie rozwoju ekonomicznego przez uczelnie wyższe stało się dla Łodzi ważnym elementem strategii rozwoju. Przedmiotami opracowania są: ukazanie roli uczelni wyższej jako czynnika rozwoju przestrzeni miejskiej; przedstawienie usytuowania i architektury uczelni wyższych w strukturze miasta Łodzi.

EN Łódź is an example of a city that was founded and developed through the 19 th century industrial development. Urban landscape is dominated by the beauty of the old brick factories. Many of these are now converted to a variety of functions, such as: office, cultural, and housing. Łódź has all the features of the city, whose the fabric of the city was created in a short period of time, in a fairly homogeneous way. Today the homogeneous nature of the building is the quality of urban space. Transformation of the 1990's meant that the city was in the recession. Generate economic development by universities for Lodz became an important element of development. The object of elaboration is: reveal the role of the university as a factor in the development of urban space, present the location and architectural structure of the universities in the city of Łódź.
