PL Artykuł poświęcono architekturze i budownictwu z okresu międzywojennego powstałej w miastach Polski południowo-wschodniej i jej roli w kształtowaniu wizerunku współczesnego miasta. Autorki przedstawiają przykłady zabudowy użyteczności publicznej, kultury, zabudowy mieszkaniowej, sportu i innych, powstałych w odrodzonej Polsce. Na podstawie badań zachowanych projektów oraz istniejących jeszcze obiektów architektury o cechach stylu narodowego i modernizmu przeprowadzono analizy stanu i skuteczności ich ochrony. Architektura z tego okresu przedstawia obecnie unikalną wartość kulturową i mentalną, z czego nie zawsze społeczność lokalna zdaje sobie sprawę. Architektura międzywojnia jest nierozerwalnym ogniwem łączącym historię ze współczesnością. Wartości kulturowe nie zawsze uwzględnia się w procesach planowania miast. Szeroko pojęta ochrona dóbr kultury zmusza nas do skutecznej ochrony tych zasobów w celu utrzymania tożsamości wyrażonej poprzez ciągłość procesów rozwojowych miast.
EN Article deals with to architecture located in the cities of south-east Poland created in the interwar period and its role in moulding the image of the contemporary city. The authors present examples of residential buildings, public buildings, culture and sports facilities, and others buildings created in the reborn Poland after the 1st World War. On the basis of the existing buildings created in modernistic and national style, authors conducted analysis of the state and effectiveness of the protection of these buildings. Case study is based on selected buildings. Architecture of this period presents unique cultural and mental values, which are not always recognized by the local community. Cultural values are not taken into consideration in urban planning processes. The architecture of this period is an indissoluble link between the history and the present. Broad sense of cultural heritage protection forces us to effectively take care of these buildings in order to maintain the identity expressed by the continuity of urban development processes.
