Abstract

EN This paper analyses the factors that have an influence on the quality of the HSM process, as experienced within the industrial process. The factors discussed include: the limitations of machine tools that cause the loss of surface quality; the method of NC part programming in CAM systems that can eliminate the disadvantages of machine tools; the options for machining cycles designed for HSM; and the problem of design producibility that has an impact on process programming for HSM technology. Also discussed are the mistakes made in the stages of product design, process programming and machining which may have a considerable effect on surface quality.
