Abstract

EN The new project of European Universities Initiative (EUI) launched by the European Commission in 2018 is a key pillar of European Education Area (EEA) and brings new dimension and plenty of new possibilities to the international cooperation area. Up to date strategic alliances among HEIs have been limited to certain disciplines and areas of cooperation, whereas EUI has a much larger and broader perspective. It is based on long-term strategy in four pillars : education, research, innovation as well as European identity and values. European Universities are ambitious, transnational alliances of higher education institutions developing long-term structural and strategic cooperation.
