Abstract

EN A great many articles in the field of relational pragmatics, cognitivism, neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, social psychology etc. have presented a broad sweep of theories about affective correlations and emotive mechanisms behind facework. There are numerous strategies such as face threatening acts, face saving acts or politeness/impoliteness strategies that are used to trigger or alleviate potential emotions. Political discourse abounds in emotional events which reflect the identities and social roles of their participants. Affect may be considered as a bonding entity in which agents in affective situation undergo the ebb and flow of different emotions that systematically strengthen or weaken in the course of communication process.
