EN A great many articles in the field of relational pragmatics, cognitivism, neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, social psychology etc. have presented a broad sweep of theories about affective correlations and emotive mechanisms behind facework. There are numerous strategies such as face threatening acts, face saving acts or politeness/impoliteness strategies that are used to trigger or alleviate potential emotions. Political discourse abounds in emotional events which reflect the identities and social roles of their participants.
