Abstract

EN Building management is performed during the phase which follows the building phase of a building's life cycle – the operational phase. This phase involves several management activities among which the most important consist in technical maintenance of a building. The abandonment of these activities may limit the functionality of a building and, in extreme case, shorten a facility's life cycle. Furthermore, it generates costs – significant in such cases. Building management usually involves the participation of a manager who, faced with a number of problems and issues, has to make decisions which require vast knowledge, analytical skills as well as speed and self-discipline. On this account, there are tools which support the manager's activities helping to gather data, knowledge, make technical diagnostics or take decisions. This article presents a review of these tools, in particular an individual repair advisory system.
