Abstract

EN The paper presents the author's research including the results of the analysis of modular solutions for architectural facades, along with innovative design concepts based on these conclusions by students of the Faculty of Architecture, Poznan University of Technology. The main purpose of the conducted research and creation of innovative designs is the adaptation of architecture to climate change. Tasks such as limiting carbon dioxide emissions, taking care of the thermal comfort of buildings, improving the ergonomics of the thermal environment for users of the buildings' interiors, increasing energy efficiency along with the use of renewable energy sources are great challenges for contemporary designers. Management of rainwater, wind power, pressure changes is already an absolute necessity. The results of the analysis of selected existing buildings, presented with the help of tables, charts and statistical tools, showed the modern directions in contemporary construction in urban areas, and the conclusions of the displayed correlations of quantitative data with social, economic, environmental factors - became the basis for the design assumptions of the students' work. Presented in the article, selected innovative façade concepts, show a variety of solutions of modern modular systems: protecting the building from excessive exposure to the sun, providing insulation against outdoor conditions, generating energy, ventilating objects, taking advantage of pressure differences, collecting water, purifying air, protecting fauna, etc. As a result, the concepts can set a modern attitude to the design of sustainable construction, based not only on reducing the negative impact on the environment and protecting natural resources, but also on shaping future architecture with high aesthetics, based on classic models of beauty.
