Abstract

EN Future image and video sequence encoders will be able to use the metadata information in order to improve their efficiency or introduce a new technique of error masking in a video decoder. The paper presents a wipe transition detection algorithm based on two video descriptors: Motion Activity and Dominant Colour. The information about transition could be useful in encoder in order to optimize their encoding strategy.
