University activities for the sustainable development of the academic community – PUT case study

EN Introduction: The main objective of the work is to present university activities and determine the social needs of the academic community, which are made in accordance with the principles of Sustainable Development (SD) and take into account the expectations of Students with Disabilities (SwD). Author includes academic areas model: (1) People with Disabilities Office - BON, (2) Psychological Support Point, (3) Student with Disabilities Organization. Methods: Author uses observation data to describe the structure of academic activities in sustainable development including (1) a good practice from the People with Disabilities Office since 2019, (2) data from Psychological Support Point for 1084 PUT students - December 2020, (3) a survey from Student with Disabilities Organization - summer 2022. Finally, author proposes a model. Results: The results of the study indicated that the University has got activities for the academic community. 83% badanych ocenia konsultacje w Punkcie Pomocy Psychologicznej Politechniki Poznańskiej 5P jako bardzo przydatne, a 17% jako przydatne. There has been a slight increase in student binge eating problems: from 10% declared before the Pandemic to 24% during the Pandemic. The most popular sports activity among Students with Disabilities is swimming. Conclusion: University has got activities for the academic community in sustainable development areas: (1) Good health and well-being, (2) Quality education, (3) Reduced inequalities. To discover the needs of the academic community is to find the relationship between university institutions, with is important in actual turbulent economic and political reality, which shows a PUT case study. Author recommends this type of model.
