Abstract

EN Fluorescent molecular probes are a class of tracer compounds that, due to their optical properties, can be employed as identifiers of changes in the reaction and biological environment. The fundamental concept underlying the probes is based on an activatable responsiveness by covalent or non-covalent interaction towards a selected analyte or set of analytes, at which the excitation and/or emission maxima undergo a change in terms of wavelength and/or signal intensity.
