Abstract

EN The paper presents a conceptual model of trade-based money laundering processes as planned by criminals. This simple model introduces agents, objects, state of affairs, actions, events and courses of events. It applies the event calculus as a reasoning tool. An action is characterised by certain parameters, preconditions and changes caused by its execution. By means of examples, possible applications of the model are presented. It is explained how to describe illegal courses of events. This model can be a good starting point for the deeper investigation of trade-based money laundering techniques.
