EN The system test of bringing voltage and starting power from hydro power plant Dychów (EW Dychów) to thermal power plant Dolna Odra (Elektrownia Dolna Odra) using starting path 110/220 kV, 205 km long, was conducted in early July, 2011; it was preceded and followed by the simulation study carried out using the PSCAD v.4.12 software package (produced by Manitoba HVDC-Canada). With the program, the detailed examination of the electromagnetic and electric-mechanical phenomena in the three-phase configuration can be carried out. The generating units models have been developed referring to detailed data obtained from EW Dychów. In the paper, the simulation results for the starting path in the phase of its development and during the activation of the devices of the block’s auxiliary services in Elektrownia Dolna Odra are presented. The simulation results have been compared to those obtained from the system test.
