EN The level of visual performance depends on lighting conditions in the road and its vicinity, the obstacles’ geometric and photometric properties and conditions of observation of objects. The drivers' visual performance tests were performed using a car driving simulator built in the laboratory of the Poznan University of Technology. During the tests, held within the framework of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education grant no. N N510 666140, a necessity was identified to formulate recommendations and guidelines on measuring drivers' visual performance with the use of a car driving simulator. The article describes the testing procedure and tests results. The analysis of the obtained results was performed and the possible use of a driving simulator to test the drivers’ visual performance was verified.
