EN The article presents the concept of building an Ethernet switch simulator. The proposed solution is not just another typical LAN simulator. This is because it will allow extensive modification of switch parameters while maintaining the real algorithm of its operation. According to the assumptions, the simulator will offer, among other things, a choice of generators (from the point of view of distribution) of Ethernet frames, the use of data from real devices to generate frames, or modification of buffer sizes. The results obtained from the simulator will be subject to statistical analysis.
