EN When the catastrophic breakdown of the National Electric Power System (KSE) develops, a separation of the island systems powered from the municipal CHP generating units can be an important way to maintain the CHP’s generation capabilities. The load island of the ECII Karolin CHP’s BC50 block can be formed by loads of the unit auxiliaries and common auxiliaries along with the industrial loads of firms located close to the CHP. In the paper, the selected results of work performed for Veolia Energia Poznań ZEC SA are reported, and the goal of the work was to determine possibilities to automatically separate an island system with BC50 block under the risk of system failure in KSE.
