Niejednokrotnie wymaga to jednak przeprowadzenia wielu kosztownych, pracochłonnych i często nieprzyjaznych środowisku eksperymentów.
EN Due to the wide range of applications both in industry and in analytics, extraction process is of the interest of many research group. Moreover the extraction is the subject of numerous studies that are focused on improement of the the economy as well as efficiency of the process. Increase of the efficiency, costs reduction, and decrease of the amount of waste can be achieved through the selection of the appropriate physical and chemical parameters. However, this often requires a number of expensive, time-consuming and often environmentally unfriendly experiments. Computational chemistry methods, which are at the initial stage of the study of the extraction process, may be an alternative for long-term laboratory experiments, stimulateously being safe and harmless to the environment.Presented thesis describes the possibility of applying the computer simulations and molecular modeling methods in descrption the citric acid extraction process with selected extractants: trioctylamine (TOA), tri-buthyl phosphate (TBP), 1-decylimidazole (IMID10). In the first and second part of the thesis the studies were focudes on the extractants and citric acid behaviour in bulk aqueous phase, organic phase as well as in the mixture and interfacial systems of these two solutes. Presented thesis describes the possibility of applying the computer simulations and molecular modeling methods in descrption the citric acid extraction process with selected extractants: trioctylamine (TOA), tri-buthyl phosphate (TBP), 1-decylimidazole (IMID10). In the first and second part of the thesis the studies were focudes on the extractants and citric acid behaviour in bulk aqueous phase, organic phase as well as in the mixture and interfacial systems of these two solutes. Obtained results showed that molecular dynamics simulation conduced with DFT methods can be used to research and describe the extraction process. Before studying of extraction process it is of primary interest to understand the behawior of extractants or/and analyte, and get an insight into their structure, preferential conformations and associations, in relation with possible solvation effects. Obtained results allowed to describe the organic complex structures and showed the possible extraction mechanism of citric acid using analyzed extractants.
