Contemporary maintenance is not only a set of operations focused on dealing with breakdowns and failures and conservation of machines and devices. Nowadays, it is more like long term strategic planning which integrates all the phases of a product lifecycle, includes and anticipates changes in social, environmental and economic trends, benefits from innovative technologies.
