Abstract

EN This paper presents a new, approximate method for modelling Video on Demand (VoD) systems. The proposed method is based on the multi-service model of Erlang’s Ideal Grading (EIG). A comparison of the results obtained by the method with the results of a digital simulation has confirmed fair accuracy of all adopted theoretical assumptions. The method can be used to analyse, optimize and design VoD systems.
