EN This work focuses on the modelling of cutting forces during turning. The purpose of the study is to determine the cutting forces of a difficult-to-cut material - commercially pure titanium Grade 2 - using the rotatable design of the experiment by RSM method. This model was validated empirically during the turning tests for various values of cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut. Results show that the depth of cut and feed rate are the parameters which significantly influence the value of tangential and radial components of cutting forces in turning process. Moreover, the value of feed force is significantly influenced only by the depth of cut. In the adopted range, the impact of cutting speed on the cutting force components has been insignificant.
