Abstract

EN We discuss the temperature coefficients of reactivity for the Dual Fluid Reactor in its metallic fuel version (DFRm) of 250 𝑀𝑊𝑡ℎ design. Three material coefficients (fuel, coolant, reflector) are investigated. We find that all of them are negative, so that the total temperature coefficient of reactivity for the DFRm reactor is also negative. We demonstrate that the total temperature coefficient stays negative during burnup of fuel. Besides, we show that some small changes of geometry of our DFRm design leave all temperature coefficients of reactivity negative, too. We then conclude that DFRm reactor possesses the basic characteristics of safety and can be implemented in nuclear technology.
