Abstract

EN This article presents the results of the research carried out in selected rooms of buildings located in Poznan. According to the measurements, the highest average radon concentration in the buildings in Poznan County was at the level of 130 ± 32 Bqm−3. The lowest mean concentration was 31 ± 8 Bqm−3 and was measured in a seven-year-old educational institution. Based on the performed measurements, non-uniformity of the correlation between the radon concentration and temperature and humidity was observed. For all the measurement sites where volatile organic compounds were counted, a positive correlation with radon was observed (rxy = 0.31, p < 0.001). A negative correlation was obtained (rxy = −0.15, p < 0.001) between the concentration of radon and the concentration of carbon dioxide. Based on the analysis of the research conducted, it was found that the concentration of radon in a given room depends on many factors, such as temperature, humidity, and room usage profile.
