Abstract

EN In this contribution, we describe a new “MIV Decoder-Side Depth Estimation” (MIV DSDE) profile, which can be a successor of the MIV Geometry Absent (MIV GA) profile for MIV ed.2. When compared to MIV GA, where geometry sub-bitstreams were completely absent in the bitstream, proposed MIV DSDE profile is much more flexible and covers more use cases and applications. It is recommended to (1) adopt the MIV DSDE profile in MIV ed.2 and (2) adopt casme_decoder_side_depth_estimation_flag in the casps_miv_extension.
