Abstract

EN Purpose: The main objective of this paper is to determine the coefficient of change that would allow predicting the economic aspects related to the social demand for the number of Sheltered Employment Workshop (SEW) in the Commercial Labor Market (CLM), acting in accordance with the principles of Sustainable Development (SD) and respecting the existing economic behavior both, in the area of obtaining knowledge and opinions of people with disabilities, active in the labor market. Methodology: The study used relevant literature review, empirical and quantitative research: linear regression analysis and time series analysis which was used to examine the dynamics and direction of the need for the number of Sheltered Employment Establishments in the Commercial Labor Market. Linear regression analysis was used to examine the correlation between both: Commercial Labor Market and Commercial Labor Market. Empirical research was enriched with own questionnaire survey in order to examine the social trend and occurrence of convergence towards the assumptions of sustainable development. In the research, tools of mathematical analysis and linear regression were used to illustrate the current situation on the labour market in the following relation: the number of employers running Supported Employment establishments to the number of disabled employees with capacity to perform paid work. This relationship is presented by giving the coefficient of this change. On its basis, a mathematical equation was also proposed to calculate the predictable number of enterprises benefiting from public support depending on the number of employees with disabilities. The results were supported by a survey of the members of an association that brings together people with disabilities in Poland, which was correlated with global data collected by governmental institutions. The study showed that the rate of change is decreasing, which is consistent with the social sentiments of the surveyed group of respondents. Calculations were performed on the studied dataset using linear regression with multiple predictors option: 𝑌𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 = 𝑏1𝑋1 + 𝑏2𝑋2 + ⋯ + 𝑏𝑖𝑋𝑖 + 𝑎 obtaining successively the coefficients: 𝑎 = 𝑦̅ − 𝑏 ∙ 𝑥̅ 239 𝑏 = 𝑛 ∙ Σ 𝑥𝑖 𝑦𝑖 − Σ 𝑥𝑖 ∙ 𝑛𝑖 =1 Σ 𝑦𝑖 𝑛𝑖 =1 𝑛𝑖 =1 𝑛 ∙ Σ 𝑥𝑖 2 𝑛𝑖 =1 − (Σ 𝑥𝑖 𝑛𝑖 =1 ) 2 giving rise to a model according to which 𝑌𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 was establish. Practical implications: The paper defines social and political determinants in the functioning of the environment of people with disabilities in Poland, which significantly deviate from the principles of sustainable development (SD). The interpretation of the regression coefficient b, for the considered research problem allows to anticipate the number of protected employment establishments, which was estimated by the variable number of employees with disabilities in the labour market, taking a downward trend with a value of -0.013. The difference 𝑋𝑖−1 − 𝑋𝑖 in each iteration was 77. Based on this observation, the interpretation of the regression coefficient b for the considered case was made. It turns out that it can be modeled that if the number of disabled workers in the market increases by 77 people, then the number of employers operating a Sheltered Employment Workshops (SEW) should decrease by one unit. Originality: Based on the analysis of the relevant literature, a research gap in the social aspects of disability in the concept of the labour market was identified. The obtained results will be used for the next stage of research, determining the evaluation of the direction of social behavior as to people with disabilities and their preferences as to the choice of work environment. Both, governmental, self-governmental and local institutions supporting professional activation of people with disabilities as well as commercial institutions should be oriented towards economic aspects of modeling support for people with disabilities, taking into account the power of social impact, which creates a number of recommendations. This study will contribute to the knowledge about the condition of the labour market, including the group of people who are still not an integrated part of the community. The study also contributes to opening a multidisciplinary discourse on the possibilities of professional activation of people with disabilities, which may serve not only to spread knowledge in this field, but also to foster cooperation between theory and practice.
