Abstract

EN The paper presents a comparison of the use of two popular CAx systems in the context of the automation of the chosen design tasks. The presented solution (automation of the design of seat mounting) is part of a larger system, intended for support and management of public transport vehicles seat production. Based on the accumulated knowledge and experience, regulations, and manufacturing guidelines provided by STER Company, a new design procedure was developed and tested separately in the 3DExperiecne Catia program and Siemens NX software. The results of verification were presented and discussed showing common features, advantages, disadvantages, and limitations in the context of using generative CAD models.
