EN The paper proposes a method of checking the smoothness, the magnitude of the beating, and the determination of the contact surface and contact loads arising in the gear pairs that can be used in the granulation equipment. The study was based on created 3D models of gear pairs, calculated according to existing standards and surface improvement recommendations. The use of Finite Element Modeling (FEM) analysis, particularly the LS-DYNA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LS-DYNA module of the ANSYS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansys software, is a reliable means of determining contact loads and gear stiffness with the application of quality surface geometry. Sub-stages of contact interaction of gear teeth with corresponding features are established. As a result, it was found that, along with the fundamental harmonic, the frequency spectrum has pronounced superharmonics, which adversely affect the granules’ monodispersity obtained in the granulation equipment. As a result, it is confirmed that there is a need for more flexible applications, such as V-belts, which are devoid of the mentioned disadvantages.
