EN The modern man’s living environment is shaped by many factors, including the factors of anthropopressure. Emissions, industrialization, urbanization, noise, waste water and waste, are some of the types of human pressure observed in the environment of our lives. With the development of societies, the amount of both industrial and municipal waste increases. Therefore, in recent years, waste management has become a subject of analysis and preventive measures. The activities carried out in the European Union to reduce the level of waste generation and storage are successful. The policy of the “recycling society” and the “closed circuit economy” is being implemented. Poland has also taken steps to improve waste management. The aim of the article is to present the analysis and assessment of the current situation in the field of waste management in Poland, compared to other European Union countries, paying attention to the method of waste management, including their transboundary movement.
