PL W artykule opisano proces estetycznej modernizacji wraz z renowacją modernistycznej willi z roku 1932 zlokalizowanej na granicy poznańskiej dzielnicy „Abisynia”, powstałej w latach 30. XX w. Budynek nie został w pełni ukończony, a jego planowany pierwotny wygląd zewnętrzny do dziś pozostaje niewiadomą. Tym samym proces badawczy stanowi połączenie rekonstrukcji oraz hipotezy badawczej co do zamierzonej formy budynku. Wobec braku materiałów źródłowych podjęto decyzję o opracowaniu autorskiej metody badawczej. Metoda ta, dalej zwana katalogiem cech, została implementowana do projektu rekonstrukcji willi. Opracowany katalog i metoda badawcza wykazały zgodność propozycji projektowej (A) na poziomie 67% i 19% dla (B). Uzyskane wyniki sprawiły, że koncepcja (B) została odrzucona, natomiast koncepcja (A) udoskonalona do poziomu 86%. Podsumowanie artykułu wskazuje wyższość statystycznych metod badawczych nad tradycyjnymi metodami badania architektury historycznej.
EN The article describes the process of aesthetic modernization along with the renovation of the modernist villa from 1932 located on the border of the Poznan district “Abisynia” built in the 30s of the 20th century. The building was not fully completed, and its planned origi-nal form appearance remains unknown to this day. Thus, the research process is a combina-tion of reconstruction and the research hypothesis as to the intended form of the building. In the absence of source materials, it was decided to develop an authorship research method. This method, further referred to as the characteristics catalogue, was implemented in the villa reconstruction project. The developed catalogue and test method showed the con-formity of the design proposal (A) at 67% and 19% for (B). In view of the results obtained, concept (B) was rejected, while concept (A) was improved to 86%. The summary of the article indicates the superiority of statistical research methods over traditional methods of historical architecture research.
