EN In this article, an innovative approach to the design and remote fitting of 3D-printed bicycle prostheses for children is proposed and proven in practice. The study introduces the AutoMedPrint system, which combines 3D scanning, computer-aided design, 3D printing technology, and virtual reality fitting. The article shows through a case study that virtual reality not only helps with collaborative design, but also facilitates remote fitting, minimizing the problems faced by patients such as the child patients involved in the study: a 10-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. The study demonstrates successful results, highlighting the potential of computer-aided design, virtual fitting and 3D printing to increase customization and reduce costs, which is especially important in pediatric cases. The results emphasize the importance of further research in virtual environments to deepen the understanding of the life cycle of the AutoMedPrint production process and improve patient rehabilitation outcomes.
