EN We present the results of multiconfiguration semi-empirical calculations of the fine structure (fs) and the hyperfine structure (hfs) for the odd-parity level system of Co I, using all available experimental data. Our analysis incorporates all electromagnetic interactions within the atom, including effective electrostatic interactions and electrostatically correlated spin–orbit interactions, as well as effective quantum numbers, and a more comprehensive and detailed data set enhances the accuracy of the results, facilitating the calculation of more precise wave functions for each electronic state. Using our many-body parametrization method, we calculated the values of the energy levels, their Landé 𝑔𝐽 factors, and the magnetic-dipole A and electricquadrupole B constants for all levels under study. Good agreement was obtained between the calculated and experimental values. The value of the nuclear quadrupole moment of 59Co was also determined.
