Abstract

EN The chapter presents the information about composite materials, which due to their properties, can be used as fill/carrier in the technology of wastewater treatment using a bed biofilm reactor MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor). In this work the susceptibility of surface of carriers made from the wood-polymer composites (WPC) to the formation of biofilm in the wastewater treatment process was investigated. Based on the carried out analyses, it was found that the use of fittings consisting of wood polymer composite as a carrier allow for the concentration of microorganisms in the bioreactor.
